How to filter Spam for MS Outlook

  1. Open Outlook by double-clicking on the Outlook icon located on your desktop.
  2. Click on Tools > Rules Wizard.
  3. Select on the New button.
  4. In this example it will show you 1 method of  filter.
  5. Select "Check messages when they arrive" and then Next.
  6. First, click the box next to "with specific words in the subject" - You can repeat the steps again by selecting the different options available in the rule wizdard.
  7. Next, click the specific words link in the bottom text box.

     
  8. Now Add as the words or phrases as you would like you want to have filtered. When you are done, press  OK and click Next.
  9. As you have already created a filter list, it is time now to create a place to put all the junk mail in it. Select,  "move it to the specified folder". Second, select the "specified" link in the bottom text box.
  10. Now select where you want to place the folder for the junk. Select "Inbox" by clicking once.
    Second, click the "New" button to create a new folder name SPAM.
  11. Type "SPAM" in the "Name" press the OK button.
  12. So now all junk mails will go under the Inbox in the folder call SPAM.
  13. Select "OK" and press "Finish".
  14. Select "Rename..." to rename the rule we just created.
  15. Erase the word "lose weight" and choose a name for the specific rule that you have just created. You may  named the rule "SPAM Subject" to reflect that you am trapping SPAM.
  16. Click "OK" and you will be returned to the main menu.
  17.  Clicking "OK" the mail rules will be set. All incoming mails will be automatically moved to the SPAM folder.

  18. Select Run Now  this allow you to to apply the filter on the existing email in your inbox. First, select the "SPAM Subject" rule.
     
  19. Next, "Browse" to your "Inbox" folder. Third, click "Run Now" which will start the filtering process on all email within your Inbox.


     

  20. You will now see the status of the filter scanning on your email.

     
  21. Once it is completed, select  "Close".

     
  22. Select close and you are done.
